WHAT IT IS

The lamp carousel is a motorized or automated component that accommodates multiple lamps, each specific to an analyte. By enabling quick and seamless switching between lamps, the carousel eliminates downtime and manual handling during multi-element analyses. This feature supports sequential measurement of elements, improving both efficiency and precision.

HOW IT WORKS

Lamp Mounting – The carousel is equipped with slots or sockets to securely hold multiple lamps, typically ranging from 4 to 8 lamps, depending on the instrument.

Automatic Switching – The carousel rotates or moves to position the appropriate lamp in the optical path based on the element selected for analysis.

Alignment – The system automatically aligns the active lamp with the monochromator and atomizer for optimal light delivery.

Sequential Analysis – The instrument’s software controls the carousel, enabling automated multi-element analysis without user intervention.
